The Brighton Tri Club Championships Series 2018 is back, bigger, better & more competitive than ever!

If you've been wondering which races to focus on, looking to get your mojo back or need extra motivation the Club Champs is for you. Get ready to pull on the blue and gold and start excited for the new race season.

The Club Championship Series provides a platform for you, the members, to battle it out across the Summer, offering motivation, encouragement, focus and camaraderie across some of the best-loved and iconic races in the South-East, finishing with our Club Champions being crowned at the end of the season.

There are even more titles to be won this year across the gender, age & discipline categories, all of which will receive a commemorative trophy at our awards ceremony. 

Basic details of each Championship category are detailed below...

The Championships

Super Series

This is the main Club Championship, from which the overall Club Champions will be found. 1 of the 7 races must be completed to be eligible for the champs. If an athlete competes in more than three events the best three results will count.

Arundel Lido - 20th May; Swim 800m (pool), 40k Bike, 10k Run

Leeds Castle - 24th June; Swim 1500m (lake), 40k Bike, 10k run [note the sprint race is on a different day]

South Coast, Seaford - Sat 28th July; Swim 1500m (sea), 40k bike, 10k run

Arundel Triathlon - 5th August; Swim 1500m (river), 40k Bike, 10k run

Brighton & Hove - 16th September; Swim 1500m (sea), 40k bike, 10k run [Competition wave]

Sussex Triathlon, Bexhill - 23rd September; Swim 1500m (lake), 40k bike, 10k run

Brighton Marina Triathlon - 30th September; Swim 800m (sea), 20k bike, 5k run

Sprint Series

For those of you that want to race short, we have a series for you. 1 of the 7 races must be completed to be eligible for the champs. If an athlete competes in more than three events the best three results will count.

Steyning Sprint - 6th May; Swim 400m (pool), 20k Bike, 4k run

Arundel Lido - 20th May; Swim 400m (pool), 20k Bike, 5k run

Eastbourne - 10th June; Swim 600m (sea), 17.5km Bike, 5k run

Leeds Castle - Sat 23rd June; Swim 750m (lake), 26k bike, 5k run [standard on a different day]

South Coast, Seaford - Sat 28th; Swim 750m (sea), 20k bike, 5k run

Brighton & Hove - 16th September; Swim 750m (sea), 20k bike, 5k run [Competition wave]

Sussex Triathlon, Bexhill - 23rd September; Swim 750 (lake), 20k bike, 5k run

Novice Cup

This must be your first triathlon, please e-mail gill@brightontri.org to tell her you are racing in advance of the race.  If you enter Arundel Lido you can go on to be included in the sprint and standard champs. 1 race counts.

Arundel Lido - 20th May; 400m (pool), 20k Bike, 5k run

Brighton & Hove - 17th September; 750m (Sea), 20k Bike, 5k run

MIDDLE DISTANCE CHAMPS

Hever Castle, The Gauntlet - 8th July; 1900m swim (lake), 90k bike, 21k run

Long distance champs

Any Challenge, Ironman or Outlaw full distance race can be used.  It must be 3800m swim, 180k bike, 42.2k run.  Please e-mail gill@brightontri.org with race details if you want to be included in the long distance champs. The winner will be chosen by the committee, so get self promoting on social media & remember to tag Brighton Tri Club.

Mountain Goat Challenge

for 2018 the Mountain Goat Challenge, a cycling specific hill climbing challenge you can take on throughout the year, will be award to the fastest male and female for the lowest accumulated times across some of Sussex's hills. More details to follow.
