Coached Open Water Swims (COWS)

In line with the current England COVID-19 guidelines the Coached sessions will have a maximum of 5 swimmers per coach, these groups will be based on confidence and abilities, led by a coach or experienced open water swimmer. Brighton Surf Life rescue will be on the water to provide safety cover. There will be a session plan which may focus on open water swimming techniques, such as mass starts, drafting, sighting, turning around buoys, swimming in a pack, dealing with waves, or may just concentrate on swim fitness. However, weather, tides and the requirements of individual swimmers means the swim plan is always adaptable.

Coached sessions are wetsuit compulsory, however the Lead Coach may let you swim without a wetsuit if the conditions are suitable, but it is at their discretion.

Non-Coached Open Water Swims (NCOWS)

Non-coached sessions are informal groups of club members getting in the sea to swim together.

Transportation

We recommend cycling to these sessions. Please bring a bike lock. There is parking on the seafront and adjacent streets but, there is no free parking in this area. Madeira Drive is currently closed to cars.
