Our return to Pells Pool for open water skills practice
/WHEN: Monday 1st July at 7pm for a 7.30pm start
WHERE: Pells Pool in Lewes - www.pellspool.org.uk
Following the popular but chilly experience of our last dip in the stream-fed fresh water at Pells, we have booked it again for our return trip.
The water temperature there is 19℃ today (Monday 24th June) so it will definitely not be as cold as it was last time.
We will be practising more of the basics of open water swimming with work on sighting, drafting and simulated race starts and turns.
There will be a £5 per person cost for the session, collected on the night.
We suggest you bring:
- Swimming costume / tri suit
- Wetsuit (optional with the warmer water temperature)
- Swim hat, goggles, towel, lube, etc.
- Warm clothing for afterwards
- Thermos with a hot drink
We are planning to move on to coached open water skills sessions from Brighton beach but we would like to see each of you in the Pells Pool before venturing into the sea. We obviously take safety provision for you very seriously and we feel this is a good way to help us determine whether you are ready for our open water sessions.
