Brighton Tri Club, is a vibrant 'TriMark BRONZE' accredited triathlon club, based in Brighton & Hove (adults) and in Ringmer (juniors), East Sussex, and catering for adults and children (aged 8yrs to 17yrs) of all abilities and levels of experience in the sport. In 2015 we were voted the Triathlon England Club of the Year, something that we were, and remain, very proud of as a young club only formed in 2013.

The club currently has nearly 300 members of all ages, with over 50% of the adults joining our club were novices in the sport.

We are inclusive & welcoming club, supporting beginners through their first triathlon alongside more experienced athletes, many club members have gone onto represent Great Britain in international age group races. As such the club is open to all regardless of experience, background or ability. If you want to be involved with triathlon, we'd love to train with you!

What’s happening in 2019?

What a year we're having.

January found club members running, and cycling around Stanmer Park in this year's Western-themed iteration of our annual Stamina event. You need to have been there, but great fun was had by both children and adults. Early May saw many of club members heading off to Mallorca for our Tri Camp. Now in its fourth year, it was a resounding success, with members getting swim video analysis, improving their bike skills, and ramping up their fitness.

Also in May, we held the Kids Tri, attracting over 200 athletes from 8-17. The day was a huge success, with many new athletes mixing with those with more experience. As always, our fantastic volunteers and sponsors made the whole day possible.

The 5th June saw the first of our GoTri Aquathlons at Pells Pool in Lewes. These swim/runs are organised in collaboration with British Triathlon, and are a great way for both children and adults to take their first steps into the world of triathlon.

Saturday the 6th July we’re running the Paddle Swim Classics, three Open Water swims that are part of the hugely successful Paddle Round The Pier festival.

Swimmers can choose between the 3.8km, 2.5km or 1.5km swims, or the Triple Crown which combines all three. These events are run in collaboration with Sea Lanes and SwimTrek.

In collaboration with Triathlon England, we start our public GoTri Open Water training sessions on the 8th June. These swims sessions aim to help existing swimmers make the change from pool swimming to open water, whether for our Paddle Swim Classics open water events or a Triathlon.

All of the above is in addition to organising training every day of the week for both the adults and our youth section the Sussex Tristars, plus regular socials for our members. Take a look around our website for more details. If you'd like to train with us in 2019 we'd love to see you, all abilities are welcomed, newcomers to seasoned pro's!

After a fantastic season of racing, it all comes down to the final race at Brighton & Hove on 15 September. Who will turn up and take the crown?

What a great day’s racing we had at Falmer. With 28 club entrants, it was always going to be a great day, but with a clean sweep for the Vets and the Women, it lived up to expectations.

Another great day’s racing in the Club Champs at Leeds Castle. Well done to everyone and especially Gemma Freeman, Chris Stanyard, Mik Onions and Shane Snow.

Here are the results following the weekend at Cardiff.
